           news.groups.proposals moderation policy change passes

The Last Call for Comments (LCC) on 23 Mar 2007 initiated a five-day
period for final comments.  Following the comment period, the Big-8
Management Board has decided by a vote to change the charter for
news.groups.proposals.

The vote was 6 in favor, 1 opposed, and 2 abstaining.  1 member did not vote.

This change will take effect immediately.

CHARTER:

The relevant section of the charter now reads: 

  Discussions should pertain to proposals to create, remove, or modify
  newsgroups in the Big-8 newsgroup hierarchies (comp, humanities, misc,
  news, rec, sci, soc, and talk).
