From: Jim Riley <firstname.lastname@example.org> Subject: RFD: remove comp.sources.amiga Newsgroups: news.announce.newgroups, news.groups, comp.sources.amiga, comp.sys.amiga.misc, comp.sys.amiga.programmer Followup-To: news.groups Date: Mon, 19 Jun 2006 18:35:43 -0700 REQUEST FOR DISCUSSION (RFD) remove comp.sources.amiga This is a formal Request For Discussion (RFD) to remove the moderated newsgroup comp.sources.amiga. RATIONALE: Remove comp.sources.amiga The last approved message was in July 1998. There are other more suitable means of distributing program sources, so comp.sources.amiga is not a suitable candidate for conversion to an unmoderated newsgroup. HISTORY: The newsgroup comp.sources.amiga was created in January 1987 to replace the moderated newsgroup mod.amiga.sources. I could locate no charter for the newsgroup. The newsgroup line was: comp.sources.amiga Source code-only postings for the Amiga. (Moderated) PROCEDURE: The full (draft) group removal procedure is documented here: http://www.big-8.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=policies:rmgroup Those who wish to comment on this request to remove this newsgroup should subscribe to news.groups and participate in the relevant threads in that newsgroup. To this end, the followup header of this RFD has been set to news.groups. All discussion of active proposals should be posted to news.groups. If desired by the readership of closely affected groups, the discussion may be crossposted to those groups, but care must be taken to ensure that all discussion appears in news.groups as well. DISTRIBUTION: This RFD has been posted to the following newsgroups: news.announce.newgroups news.groups comp.sources.amiga comp.sys.amiga.misc comp.sys.amiga.programmer PROPONENT: Jim Riley <email@example.com> CHANGE HISTORY: 2006-06-19 Slightly reformatted and posted to NAN 2006-06-16 Original RFD.
