  - RL has received responses from Ivo and Terje and will continue to coordinate setting up a moderation system.
- news.groups.proposals
  - The group's signing key uses the e-mail address ngp-approval-key@ngp.big-8.org. Agreed to leave this as-is for now, as this is just an identifier. We can later consider adding a new identity with a new address, and/or upgrading to a GPGv2 key.

  - TM to post the LCC today.
- Moderated groups without moderators
  - soc.genealogy.surnames.britain : No further update from volunteer.
  - rec.humor.funny : No further communication from Brad Templeton.
  - Ivan Shmakov posted another followup on his expression of interest in moderating some groups. TM to respond.
  - comp.binaries.cbm : RL has received an update from the new moderator indicating that the submission address has been set up. RL to confirm the moderator contact address and then to contact ISC. RL also to add features to PyModerator for the new moderator.
  - rec.arts.anime.creative : RL responded (in thread and by e-mail) to tidux's offer to take over moderation with a robomoderator, and is awaiting a response.
  - TM posted the LCC on 2025-05-05. Board to vote in the seven-day period beginning on 2025-05-10.
- soc.sexuality.general (non-functioning moderated group): Agreed to defer until mass deletion RFD is concluded.
- soc.culture.jewish.moderated (non-functioning moderated group): Agreed to defer any further action until the current mass deletion RFD is concluded.
- comp.sys.wearables : On 2025-05-08 RL pinged Greg Pfeil for an update on the moderation infrastructure.
- comp.protocols.dns.bind : On 2025-05-02 MM pinged Dan Mahoney for an update on the mail-to-news gateway.
Infrastructure
- Status of cron jobs for offsite backups: RL got the Mail in a Box backup scripts for mailboxes working and tested. TM to send a list of things besides e-mail that should also be backed up.
- TM has updated MediaWiki on our web server to the latest LTS release.
- Decommissioning of the mail.big-8.org domain blocked until we have backups in place.
- Decommissioning Mail in a Box, Nextcloud, etc. blocked until we have backups in place.
- RL couldn't determine whether Apache can be configured to always use the most recent version of PHP. RL to document how to fix Apache in case it goes down again due to a PHP upgrade.
Software/funding
- TM: No update yet on GPG signing best practices on Savannah
- Thunderbird 128 contact deferred given Julien's comments on INN.
- TM still to respond to Julien.
- OTF IFF/NGI0/Sovereign Tech Fund: no further updates
- TM met with an undergraduate student who may be interested in contributing to (Web)STUMP.
Misc
- Paul Schleck's proposals of August 2024 were reviewed and discussed. TM to respond suggesting that the Board's wiki link to an offsite version of the articles.
- Meeting on 2025-05-16 cancelled due to TM's unavailability.
