We have formed a News Service Providers Committee (NSPC) to communicate with news adminisrators and promote propagation of the Big-8 newsgroups.

The following brief list of free text news servers is in alphabetical order without editorial comment. It's a short list. Check out the servers and decide for yourself which one is best for you. No one knows what works for you better than you do. [Some additions made to Black Dragon's original list.]
- Mixmin--This is an *read-only* nntp link (nntp://news.mixmin.net). Configure your newsreader to use it.
- nntps://news.mixmin.net -- Same as above but with a nntps link. Same caveat.
