                       rec.arts.tv.mst3k.announce

The Big-8 Management Board is pleased to announce that Chris "Sampo"
Cornell has been appointed to moderate rec.arts.tv.mst3k.announce. 


HISTORY: 

The newsgroup rec.arts.tv.mst3k.announce was created in April 1995. At
the same time the unmoderated newsgroup rec.arts.tv.mst3k was renamed
to rec.arts.tv.mst3k.misc.  The newsgroup rec.arts.tv.mst3k had been
created a year earlier in May 1984.

Approvals for rec.arts.tv.mst3k.announce had declined from roughly 20
per month in 1995 and 1996 to 2 or 3 per month in 2000.  The last
approval was in December 2000.


CHARTER:

The newsgroup line is:

|rec.arts.tv.mst3k.announce	Mystery Science Theater 3000 announcements.

The charter (from the CFV):

The newsgroup rec.arts.tv.mst3k.announce will be use as a forum for
announcements of interest to MST3K fans.  This includes, but is not
limited to:  Show schedules, episode guides, formalized reviews, Tour
schedules, official announcements from Best Brains,
Contest/Promotional Information, appearances by current or former cast
members, FAQs, and MST3K-related events such as conventions or local
get togethers.

To be determined; but this will be a standard announcement newsgroup.
