      • RL pinged Terje on 2025-06-20 regarding setting up a moderation system with Terje.
    • news.groups.proposals
      • RL still investigating the best practices for transitioning to a new signing key. TM suggested a transitional period during which both keys are used to sign messages, after which we might revoke the old key. RL to check whether the e-mail address for the old key ID, ngp-approval-key@ngp.big-8.org, is set up to autorespond with the public key. TM suggested that for the new key, we may want to change e-mail associated with the primary ID to something like ngp-approval-key@big-8.org so as to avoid use of a mail subdomain (and the associated problems).

    • soc.culture.jewish.moderated soc.culture.jewish.moderated on Google Groups (non-functioning moderated group): TM posted the 2nd RFD and has written back to the former moderator and someone they nominated as a prospective moderator.
    • comp.sys.wearables comp.sys.wearables on Google Groups: On 2025-06-20 RL pinged Greg Pfeil for an update on the moderation infrastructure. In any case, agreed to wait several more months for further action.
    • comp.protocols.dns.bind comp.protocols.dns.bind on Google Groups: On 2025-05-02 MM pinged Dan Mahoney for an update on the mail-to-news gateway. No response yet. In any case, agreed to wait several more months for further action.
    • Unused comp.unix.* groups: MM gave usage statistics on the 17 groups in the comp.unix.* hierarchy he is considering proposing for deletion. TM and RL to offer comments/proposals by e-mail, to be discussed at the next meeting.
  • Infrastructure
    • Decommissioning of the mail.big-8.org domain and of Mail-in-a-Box, Nextcloud, etc.
      • MM wrote to JE to inform him that we are planning to decommission Nextcloud and suggesting that he back up any files he has stored there. No response yet.
      • MM still to investigate the decommissioning procedure and report back to a future meeting.
    • RL fixed the permissions error from user www-data's daily cron job to delete certain munin directories.
  • Software/funding
    • TM: No update yet on GPG signing best practices on Savannah
    • Thunderbird 128 contact deferred given Julien's comments on INN.
    • TM still to respond to Julien.
    • OTF IFF/NGI0/Sovereign Tech Fund: no further updates
    • No response yet from JE to RL's e-mails and direct messages about the OpenCollective expense. RL to arrange for the name on the hosting account to be changed to his own.
    • TM reported that there has been further developer activity on the news-related Thunderbird bugs he reported and/or triaged.
