I'll start this update on the workings of the B8MB by noting that
we're going to shut down for the holiday weekend. Don't expect too much
response from us between tomorrow (5/26) and Monday (5/29). I hope you
all enjoy your breaks, too.

Volunteer Committees
--------------------

There have been lots of discussions going on lately on news.groups
that have referenced three major volunteer organizations: the Usenet
Volunteer Pollsters, the Usenet Volunteer Moderators, and Group Mentors.
These groups are not currently populated, but they have fairly clear (if
general) goals. And most importantly, they now have mailing lists, so
it's possible to start getting them organized.

If you would like to volunteer for any of these organizations, please
subscribe to the relevant mailing lists. We are not restricting
  membership at this point.

soc.religion.asatru
-------------------

The waiting period for soc.religion.asatru has completed, and the Board
has not changed its decision. The group will be created shortly after
the break. A more formal announcement is forthcoming.

Queue Status Reports
--------------------

If anybody has any comments on the queue status message I posted a
couple of days back, please offer them. The format is far from set-in-
stone so far, and any feedback we get would be greatly appreciated.

Also, web page should always be fairly up-to-date:

         http://www.big-8.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=blogs:queue

I plan to eventually post a queue report weekly.
