The Last Call for Comments (LCC) on 28 Jun 2007 initiated a five-day<br />
period for final comments. Following the comment period, the Big-8<br />
Management board has decided by consensus to remove the newsgroup<br />
soc.religion.gnosis.<br />

This group will be removed on 11 Jul 2007.<br />

RATIONALE: remove soc.religion.gnosis<br />
<br />
The last approval was in December 2000. Approvals in 2000 were often<br />
sporaradic.<br />
<br />
Possible actions include:<br />
<br />
(1) Revive the group with a new moderator.<br />
<br />
(2) Convert the group to an unmoderated status.<br />
<br />
(3) Remove the group.<br />
<br />
There is an equivalent unmoderated newsgroup (alt.religion.gnostic),<br />
so an unmoderated soc.religion.gnosis may be redundant.<br />

HISTORY: <br />
<br />
The newsgroup soc.religion.gnosis was created in July 1994. An<br />
earlier creation effort in November 1993 had narrowly missed the<br />
required +100 plurality (151:56). It approvals until December 2000.<br />
Traffic was often relatively light, with around 5 articles per week.<br />
