The Last Call for Comments (LCC) on 18 Jan 2007 initiated a five-day<br />
period for final comments. Following this comment period, the Big-8<br />
Management Board has decided by a vote to not create the group<br />
sci.research.eeg.<br />
<br />
Many members of the Board expressed concern with the lack of support<br />
for this proposal from potential users other than the proponent.<br />
Unless a number of current users of Usenet would read and post to the<br />
group were it to be created, it is unlikely that the group would be<br />
successful. No evidence of such a body of users was presented during<br />
discussion of the proposal.<br />

If the proponent wishes to resubmit his proposal, he should first<br />
find a pool of users on Usenet who would read and post to the group<br />
were it to be created, and who would be willing to post messages<br />
saying this in news.groups.proposals during discussion of the<br />
proposal.<br />

discussing the science, technology, and methodology of conducting EEG<br />
research. The focus is on the techniques, mathematical and statistical<br />
approaches, engineering issues, and research methodology encountered<br />
in EEG research, with the aim of providing peer-to-peer assistance in<br />
this field. Commercial posts, such as product or service promotions,<br />
are banned. Simple announcements of available products or services<br />
from EEG-related organizations or enterprises are welcome, as long as<br />
they are posted one time only. Announcements of research-related job<br />
announcements, books, and conferences are welcome, as are posting of<br />
announcements of relevant publications. Posting of binaries is not<br />
permitted, with the exception of small digital signatures such as PGP.<br />
