There had<br /> been a substantial decline in traffic over its last couple of years,<br /> perhaps triggered by the creation of comp.archives.ms-windows.announce<br /> in July 1996.<br /> <br /> There is almost no discussion in the unmoderated comp.archives.admin<br /> (the group is intended for discussion about administration of<br /> archives, rather than the content of the archives).<br /> <br /> Announce of archives for specific operating systems, programming<br /> languages, etc. may continue to occur in groups specific to those<br /> operating systems and languages.<br /> <br /> <br /> HISTORY: <br /> <br /> The newsgroup comp.archives was created in November 1998.
