* JE reported that he has acquired a new archive of Usenet posts, including many articles not yet on The Internet Archive. The archive is about 1 TB in size, covers the period 2003 to the present, and has all the articles in their original formats, including all headers. It is not spam-filtered, though JE deliberately excluded articles from binary groups and certain "sketchy" text groups. JE reported that he had met with Jason Scott of The Internet Archive and was arranging to provide them with a copy. TM and MM advised JE to deposit the archive to at least one additional repository to help ensure that it remains available.
* JE reported that he will be attending the Vintage Computer Festival Midwest this month and will try to get in touch with anyone related to or with an interest in Usenet.
